Planimetric Map - Political map of Germany

This map is a planimetric map because it does not show relief features and it only has two dimensions.  The purpose of this political map is to represent Germany as a country, with its 16 states, the state borders, as well as the state capitals.  Besides having lines for borders, each state is a slightly different shade, in order to better distinguish one from the other.  The neighboring countries are also on this map, so that the viewer can put Germany into its European context.  Berlin, as the national capital, is depicted by a bigger, red box, as opposed to the state capitals, which are depicted by smaller, white boxes.
